"The poetry that comes from the squaring off between
And the circling is worth it
Finding beauty in the dissonance"
"Schism" is a song by American rock band Tool. It was the first single and music video from their third full-length album, Lateralus. In 2002, Tool won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the song. "Schism" is known as a prime example of Tool's use of complex rhythms and changing meters.
Although Schism is one of our favourite Tool song, their other music videos are also worth to watch not only because of the music but the visuals, too.
Didn't you know this song yet? Let's see what people think about it:
"This is one of few bands that make great music."
"Never heard this opening before. It is like NIB, if you just listen to the main song you don't get to hear the amazing opener."
"I think it's about a relationship breaking down, and the sense of hopelessness as it falls apart before your eyes."
"The feeling of something not being as it should be... This video gives me that feeling."
"I keep watching these Tool music videos and they all start out FAIRLY normal. Then they slap you in the face with a big 'ol "WTF"?"
"Thats one of the creepiest music videos I've ever seen."
Every mother should dedicate a song like this to their children. It makes your eyes wet without even realizing that you’re totally into the song.
Speak to me was originally written to be the end title of the independent movie called Voice of the Stone, which the vocalist said was deeply touching her because of being a new mother herself. We already saw Amy Lee in so much role and whatever she has ever done she's always done it the best way anybody could, now seeing her as a mother is more than our heart can take. "I can't let go You're every part of me The space between is just a dream You will never be alone" Looking at her now is pure happiness and calmness. Many of her fans were asking to bring back the good ol' Evanescence. Although it's really something unforgettable, this song fits the life she has now and even if it's not the same it's still wonderful.
"I will always be waiting And I'll always be watching you Speak to me" She’s a mother by now, she's not broken anymore, and she shows us there are no wounds that cannot be healed.
"I feel you rushing all through me In these walls I still hear your heartbeat And nothing in this world can hold me back From breaking through to you
We are one breath apart, my love And I'll be holding it in 'til we're together Hear me call your name Just believe and speak, speak to me, speak to me."
